At VivaTech 2025, Interstellar Lab will showcase its latest development in BioPod technology with SIRIUS a AI-powered greenhouse system for autonomous plant cultivation and research. This innovative system is controlled by an artificial intelligence GAIA and designed specifically as an R&D platform for developing high precision plant growth parameters for ingredient optimization. The ongoing collaboration between Interstellar Lab and L’Oréal represents a major leap in sustainable, tech-augmented ingredient sourcing for the fragrance and cosmetics industry.

Built for precision agriculture and plant research, SIRIUS enables the automated growth of rare and high-value plant species under fully optimized conditions. It completes Interstellar Lab’s terrestrial BioPod product family, joining Model One, ORION (for large-scale production), and PLEIAD (for pilot-scale validation). The system consists of compact, autonomous cultivation units equipped with precise controls over temperature, humidity, CO₂, light, irrigation, and nutrients. These parameters are continuously managed by GAIA, the artificial intelligence optimizing growth conditions in real time - enabling scalable, reproducible, and high-quality plant production tailored for fragrance, cosmetics and related industries.

Interstellar Lab’s BioPods systems are AI-powered, closed-loop, climate-resilient greenhouse systems that replicate native habitats, enabling year-round cultivation with significantly higher yields, lower water use, and consistent quality compared to conventional open-field agriculture.
This collaboration embodies a shared vision between L’Oréal and Interstellar Lab: to develop new sourcing opportunities by merging nature and technology, creating a more sustainable, resilient, and high-performance future for beauty. By combining L’Oréal’s botanical and biological expertise with Interstellar Lab’s advanced agritech, the partnership explores a new sourcing model that is intelligent, localized, low-impact, in order to meet the growing demand for natural, high-performance ingredients.
